Understanding financial statements and their relevance to various types of business is becoming increasingly important in the aftermath of numerous accounting scandals. Management can no longer rely on the opinions of finance and accounting professionals and therefore must have a basic understanding of accounting. Additionally, managers face new liabilities in accounting matters since the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. This course is designed to give attendees a one-day overview of accounting techniques, their relevance, and problems associated with each.
